This is my VERY FIRST blog. I decided to just make one since I have a LOT to say and it would be easier to share with the world if I use a blog. As you will notice the things I share are based on my understanding. I hope you are able to enjoy. The first topic is on SCRIPTURE. Okay so here goes the first topic of the day. Just another heads up, these statements I make are based on my own research and knowledge and you should make your OWN research and not base truth on what Brien says. I am human and I am prone to make mistakes. Anyways, here goes.
SCRIPTURE of God's Holy Word is my number one basis on everything. If you do not believe the word of God then there is no sense continuing with me in this journey. The word of God is the foundation of all knowledge in our Christian walk. One of the thoughts I have had throughout my years growing up is how can one man right this book. After reading the gospels alone, I starting thinking that this book could not have been written by one man as the story is the same but the angles and ways of talking are completely different. 2 Peter 1:21 tells us that "Holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost" (please note that these texts are quoted from KJV). This made it clearer to me as I have constantly wondered this. But how much of the scripture was inspired by God? 2 Tim 3:16-17 gives us that answer. "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God."
SIDE NOTE
You might be wondering, why I am using the scripture to prove that scripture is real. Well if you want to prove your book is real you either go to the author to find out (which many of you will NEVER do), read the back of the book (which the bible does not have), read a summary on the book (which I have been doing on the bible) or simply read the book yourself. THEREFORE, I am using the book itself to proof that it is real. Another point you can take is that the writing of the book (as stated earlier) has many different authors but not one of them contradict the other. NOW, back to our studies.
The next thing we might be wondering is HOW can a book so old last so long? or how PERMANENT (as my father puts it) is His Word? let's see what Matthew 24:35 tells us. "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away." Jesus Himself gives you the answer. His WORD is eternal. It will never die. Okay so Brien, why do I have to read it? Can't someone just read it and tell me what it's about? OOO YES THEY CAN. Let me ask you a question. When people keep telling you about a movie or a book that's sooo good and you keep hearing it from all your good friends and even family members and they keep saying, "you have to read this" or "you have to watch this" do you just take their word for it and just soak in what they are saying? NO WAAAAY... you try to watch it if even parts of it and you have to read the book if even parts of it. If you like those parts you watch and read more. THE SAME THING with the Bible.
PURPOSE & REASON
2 Tim 2:15 gives us the reason. It says we should study to show ourselves approved unto God. When you study, you are telling God that you acknowledge His word and want Him to guide you into all truth. But what is Truth? His word is Truth. And What is the purpose of the Word? Rom 15:4 says that the whole purpose of the Scripture or Word of God is to give us Hope.
The things of this world give us NO hope. Example, evolution says that we come from nothing (Big Bang) and then we will die and cease to exist. WOW what hope I have in life. Could be a reason we try killing ourselves because "What is my reason for living?" God gives us hope and we can find it ONLY in His word. Church cannot give us hope. Family cannot give us hope, Friends are more likely to burn you than give you hope. JESUS alone can give you hope.
In closing this spiel I would like to give you a little evidence of Bible being real.
1. Moabite Stone discovered in 1868
2. Dead Sea Scrolls in 1799
3. Rosetta Stone 1799
4. Only one center throughout the entire bible, Jesus
5. Daniel 2 predicts the way powers would conquer the earth and SO it was done (when I start the bible studies I will ATTEMPT to explain this)
6. The bible NEVER EVER contradicts itself.
